Add greens to your plate
A nutrition poster encouraging families to add local greens to every plate — simple choices for stronger families and a healthier Liberia.
Community health education
Community health education for everyday life in Liberia.
About
Living Well Liberia is the community health education program of The Friendly Counselor Foundation, Inc. Our mission is simple: share clear, practical, and culturally relevant health education with Liberian families and communities.
We teach with pictures and plain language, and we teach together — through community discussion that welcomes every level of literacy. Whether you are a parent, an educator, a healthcare professional, a school, a nonprofit, or a potential partner, these materials are made to be used.
Plain language, short sentences, and strong visuals so the message lands.
Everyday habits families can act on today — food, water, hygiene, and care.
Content rooted in local foods, family life, and community practice.
What we teach
Building balanced meals from the foods families already grow, sell, and eat — from greens and grains to fish and fruit.
Handwashing, safe drinking water, and clean surroundings — the small habits that protect the whole household.
Understanding blood pressure, salt, diet, and stress — and why quiet conditions still need attention.
Recognizing the signs, understanding risk, and knowing when and how to seek a check-up.
Learning the signals that mean it is time to act — and helping a neighbor or child get care early.

Our teaching series keeps growing with the communities we serve.
Teaching resources
Select a poster to view it in full. Each is designed for community display and discussion — at schools, clinics, markets, and family gatherings.

A one-page community health guide on hygiene: washing hands, keeping drinking water safe, practicing food hygiene, keeping the body clean, and keeping the home clean.
A quiet-condition awareness poster: diabetes can be present without obvious signs. A reminder to ask if you need a diabetes check at your next health visit.
Our approach
Strong visuals carry the message, so materials work for every level of literacy.
Short, clear wording — read on its own or spoken aloud by a facilitator.
Teaching happens in conversation, not lectures: families talk through the ideas together.
